BRILHO: Tips to improve your health during the summertime

We are just a few weeks away from Fall, but it is still important to keep track of our daily habits to make the most of our sunny days.

Summer is a great time where we can enjoy the weather outside with friends and family over food and drinks, and it should also be a good opportunity for taking care of our health.

As our summers are not long and things can get very busy, we shouldn’t neglect time for ourselves. To keep moving forward, we need to properly fuel our bodies and make the movement consistent. 

Here are some simple tips to follow:

1. Stay hydrated. If you are thirsty, it is already too late. Always keep a reusable bottle with you to remind yourself. Staying hydrated keeps you mentally alert and focused throughout the day.

2. Stay balanced. Eating out and having drinks on the patio is great, but make sure you balance it out with good, whole foods earlier in the day or after. Staying balanced makes sure you cover all your nutritional needs for the day.

3. Plan and prepare. Look at your upcoming week and plan what days you have available to get out and move. It could be a simple 5-10 minute routine or going out for a bike ride. Planning and preparing keep you accountable and gives you direction.
